The Union Cross Country teams are hitting their strides as they approach the postseason. This past week, both the Boys and girls XC teams competed at the Dike New-Hartford Meet.The team continued to show growth with many hitting season best (SB) times or even personal records (PR).
The Union Boys team finished 15th out of 22 teams with nearly 160 runners competing. Sawyer Spence medaled for the Knights, finishing 10th with a season best time of 17:07. Tristan Keister set a new PR with 19:20, Phineas Beerman crossed the line at a time of 20:33, Ian Grimm earned a SB with 21:34, Anderson Karr earned a PR of 21:45, and Cayden Stoneman also ran a personal best time with a 22:50.
The Union Girls team finished 14th out of 16 teams with over 120 runners competing. Brynn Albertsen crossed the line first for the Knights with a season best time of 21:55, finishing 41st overall. Olivia Shildroth eared a PR of her own, finishing at 22:07. Addie Tudor hit a season best time of 22:26 while Kayla Toenges hit a PR of 22:53. Three more season best times were achieved including Katie Jackson (24:43), Lorelei Hinebaugh (24:58), and Skylar Pearson (32:15).
The Knights are back in action next week for the LOADED NICL Conference Meet. District match-ups will be announced soon and the Knights will have their path to the State Meet set.
