The wrestlers started the year off right with a 2-1 finish at Midland Jan. 4. They lost to Alburnett 55-15 and defeated Midland 36-30 and Ed-Co 39-30. Going 3-0 for the night were Nathan Beitz and Brady Davis with two and one pins, respectively. Aidan Salow finished 2-0 with one pin. Kyle Engleken, Tyreese Crippen and Clayton Davis each went 2-1. Seth Dugan got a pin, and Mason Jolley had a win by decision.
Last Saturday, MV hosted the Farr Jebens Invitational. The Wildcats finished in eighth place out of 12 teams. Beitz (190) and Brady Davis (215) won the championship round. Clayton Davis (157) finished fourth, and Engleken (144) finished fifth. The wrestlers competed at Springville last night (Jan 12). Results will be in next week’s issue.
