The Union Knights boys basketball team kicked off the 2023-2024 season last night as they hosted the Central City Wildcats. Union brings back significant playing time from last season, including Senior Captains Jackson Anderson, Mason Mullen, and Logan Rosauer. Anderson was sidelined due to an injury, which meant that younger talent needed to step up for the home opener.

Cue sophomore Cam Mullen. Mullen stepped up to lead the Knights scoring with 25 points. He was a deep threat, sinking 6 of his 11 3-pt attempts. He added 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 rebounds. He was joined by fellow sophomores Caden Sorensen (18-points), Maddux DeWinter (12-points), and Sawyer Spence (11-points), who all scored double digits for the Knights. As a team, the Knights shot 50% from 3-point range (16 of 32) on their way to putting up an impressive 84-points on the night. Senior Logan Rosauer led the Knights on the boards, raking in 6 rebounds for the Knights.

Next Up: Independence (11/28).
