In a middle school triangular competition held at Webster City High School on May 1, 2023, Huxley Lingenfelter unleashed a discus throw measuring 173 feet and 6 inches. Lingenfelter, an 8th grader at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, crushed the school's previous 8th grade record (which he had established two weeks before) of 134 feet and 9 inches.
In addition to his victory in the discus competition, Huxley ran with his fellow Cowboys to also win the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, 800m Sprint Medley Relay, and 1600m Distance Medley Relay.
The Cowboy middle school track team will be back in action Friday, May 5 at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura. They will be also be competing in the Little Eagle Relays in Eagle Grove on Saturday morning.
