The high school bowling meet between local host Waterloo West and Cedar Rapids Jefferson turned out to be an exciting match with an extraordinary finish. For starters on the boys side, the Wahawks of West Waterloo dominated from the beginning winning with a score of 3067 to 2546. The Wahawks top performers were Tristan Corcoran (SR) 448, Ben Melcher (JR) 426, Andrew Turner (SR) 417, and Austin Tieskotter (SR) 411. That is back to back wins for the boys, and brings their season record to an even 3-3 on the season.

On the girls side things were quite a bit closer. West opened with a 104 pin lead after individual games were done, however the baker game matches made things really interesting! After narrowing the gap the first three baker games, Jefferson fired an incredible 280 game 4 which included ten straight strikes! The Wahawk ladies had a good game of their own game 4, as they shot 212. That gave Jefferson a 36 pin lead heading into the last baker game of the day. It was a great finish as West ended with 227 to Jefferson's 190 giving the Wahawks a 2823-2822 victory. Individual leaders for the Wahawk girls were Sydney Wilson (FR) 421, Melanie Nelson (SO) 404, Braley Bogart (SR) 392, and Kayley Fangman (JR) 386. That is also back to back wins for the girls, bringing their overall season record to 4-2.
